Truckload of Hay
$ .00

Winter hay is critical for horses. Green grass is gone, and horses survive five months each year with hay and grain daily. Hay from the same farmer keeps the herd free of colic and bad mixes. A truckload of hay with 650 bales will help Talisman’s horses stay healthy and fit this winter.

Safety Ventilation and Lighting Improvements in the Indoor Arena
$ .00

Safety Ventilation and Lighting Improvements in the Indoor Arena
Talisman received “seed money” from Queen Anne’s County government towards this $60,000 project. It is necessary to increase the air flow in the 16,000 square foot area and enhance the overhead lighting. On hot, hot summer days and no breeze, the air flow is stagnant. Most Indoor Arenas install large specially designed, slow-rotational ceiling fans which do not kick-up the footing or frighten the horses. We need three of these. Additionally, the existing lighting is inadequate. Some riders, instructors, horses and even Talisman’s Founder cannot see in the arena. Please help us eliminate potential safety hazards.

Life-like animal sculptures on Bobby’s Trail
$ .00

Life-like animal sculptures on Bobby’s Trail
Talisman received a grant from the Queen Anne’s Arts Council for the creation of animal sculptures by our riders. These permanent creatures help the sensory experience for our special riders on horseback in the woods. We plan to create a fox, eagle, snake, rabbit, and owl. The matching grant will allow us to add more creatures along the 1,000’ Bobby’s Trail.

Directional Signage at Talisman Farm
$ .00

Directional Signage at Talisman Farm
Talisman received a grant from the Maryland Horse Industry Board for directional signage. This is a PATH international (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship) requirement that all buildings, pathways and entrances have signage. Our needs exceed the budget. Can you help us make sure no one gets lost on the 30-acre farm?
